Our Campaign
Since Tree protection orders were granted in the 1970s, volunteers have campaigned to save the Calais Woods for the enjoyment of all, and to protect the habitat of many creatures.
1. Against Developments

Challenging 8 planning applications, with many receiving objections within the hundreds to the threats to the local environment, green networks , routes of travel and people safety.
​
Pressure was steered for local powers to start applying more assistance to a valuable green resource within Dunfermline City.
2.New Buffer zones
15m woodland buffer zones to north and East and Calais Wood
3. Woodland Management Plans
Additional tree planting by developers, and woodland extension within park ( over 8000 planted)
4. Community spaces in the Park
Community hub within park and Outdoor art
5. TPOs & Surveys
TPO requests ( ongoing) to 3 other linking woodlands and Ecological Surveys to Calais Wood
